Air Shows

I got my real start in serious photography through the Chicago Air Show fifteen years ago.  Through a good friend, I've had the chance for many years to shoot for the B-1 bomber crew that regularly flies this show-the largest free airshow in the nation-2 million people attend over the weekend.  Talk about a rush!  This has meant getting FAA and airshow clearance to be the closest civilian to show center, past the police line onto the Lake Michigan jetty occupied only by the Blue Angel ground crew, the FAA, and the guy that blows up the fireworks when the A-10 Warthogs do their attack passes!  Enjoy the video, and click on the link to see a gallery of planes from Chicago and the Blue Angels’ training facility in Pensacola, Florida.
